Tues, Jan. 21, 4-7p - Marquis Student Living - Austin

Welcome Back to Campus Resident Mixer w/Market, Tues, Jan. 21, at Marquis Student Living in Austin. Marquis has 7 properties, many residents are students/staff at UT and Jan. 21 is the day everyone returns to school after the holiday rate. We're booking a food truck and some vendors to set up in the parking lot in front of the Marquis office on 28th Street. Vendor set up will be from 230-4pm. The mixer will be from 4-7p. This is an outdoor event and the parking lot is well-lit. Vendors will need to bring their own table, table cloth, chair and, if desired, a canopy. We're looking for CBD oil, ColorStreet, Paparazzi, essential oils...vendors selling goods utilized by students. Vendor fee is $30. What's a mobile market?

A mobile market is a group of vendors...as small as 5 vendors or as large as you have space for/desire, that set up at the complex on a scheduled date/time, allowing residents to shop during the agreed time, normally a weekday evening or on a weekend, in conjunction with some other promotion the complex might be offering. It's a perk for residents..."shopping at your door." Mobile markets are especially popular during the months of Sept-Dec, as residents need to prepare for the holidays, but have a busy work schedule, etc.

Specialized markets take a bit longer plan, so please give us a month or more for those. And, we are booking 2019 dates now :) Folks tend to focus on health/wellness during Jan. and Feb., and we're now booking!!! Weeknights or weekend days are available.

We've also added some "class" type options!!! Classes are offered during weekday evenings. Essential Oils: Use for Family Health; Cleaning & Pets; Pampered Chef Cooking; Weght Loss/Nutrition; Wreath Making Classes (if you'd like residents to be able to make a wreath, there would be a fee, like $25-$30, which we would ask the resident to pay, but they get to keep the wreath. If the complex wanted to pay the fee for this and limit it to the first 10 residents to sign up, that's another way to go :) )

What's required? We need space for a minimum of 5 vendors, we can try to book as many as there is space for, each vendor needs a space to set up a table and a chair (vendors supply their own tables, chairs, etc.). Club houses, poolside, lunch rooms, entry ways, etc. are all perfect options. Vendors would need at least an hour to set up, 2 hours is preferred. Vendors only sell during the agreed time frame, then they break down and leave.

We prepare promo pieces that may be distributed electronically to residents, printed and posted in common areas, etc. We arrange the vendors. Vendors range from boutiques, jewelry, candles, kid interest, etc. Special requests for specific types of vendors are accepted.

THIS COSTS THE COMPLEX NOTHING!!!
It brings local, small businesses together with your residents for a personal shopping experience that the world's busy schedule often doesn't allow. While there is no cost to the complex, once an event date is scheduled, we can reschedule if circumstances (severe weather, staffing changes, etc), but if cancelled, there is a $500 fee to cover our time/efforts.
